Koyaanisqati Review

Koyannisqati is film directed by Godfrey Reggio. The craft behind this film is very detailed and is based around shots with edited speeds either slower or faster. It seems to be showing the fast moving pace of society and how our the generation of 1982 was constantly becoming increasingly modern. This piece is non diegetic and the sound contrasts the picture we see. This shows how important sound is within film. E.g. At the end of the film, the missle explodes meanwhile there is a very slow sad instrumental being played. This Gives the scene a completely different meaning and almost makes the scene become sad and upsetting.
The concept of this piece is hard to figure out first of all because of the pace and sudden change in scenery throughout. The pace of the scenes seem to increase as the film goes on and the scenes seem to come
