Exhibition Space

I decided to use my living room as my exhibition space because it was a comfortable, spacious area that my video could be viewed in. I also thought this was a good idea because their would be less problems that could happen and even if their was im used to using the equiptment so i would be able to fix it.
If i hadn't of used this place i would have probably used the college dining area because i feel that would be a good chance to show many people my project and get a broad variety of different feedback

Everything Turns by Max Hattler

Everything Turns by Max Hattler is a short piece of stop frame animation inspired by Durs Grünbein's poem Vertigo. The concept of this one minute video is about life and death and confusion. It is about the cycle of life, seen by the child being made and the death of the old man near the end.

The craft of this piece is not completely detailed and the speed of the film makes it quite hard to understand. This speed was not just to make the film fast. It is to represent the ongoing confusion in your mind but also how fast life can be taken away.

IInspired by Durs Grünbein's poem Vertigo.

Eulogy For Things Left Unsaid by Rob Chiu

Eulogy For Things Left Unsaid by Rob Chiu is an experimental video set in the countryside.
The craft gone into this may not seen outstanding but each different scene has been specially picked out to create the humble, quite serenity which gives the piece its sense or sorrow and bliss. Even the voice that is heard is soft and gentle to increase the low atmosphere. Although this film represents loss i think different scenes are there to present hope in the future.

The concept of this piece is loss. The short film explores the in depth feeling of regret but also the future the lies before us. I think it shows the way we grow and deal with things but also the way things are never forgotten. This is shown by the pictures of unseeded crops, but then the shots of new plants and colourful flowers. It shows that if if the past is left it will stay forgotten and uncared for. But if we grow with the future new life can be created.

Muto by Blu

Muto is a stop frame animation piece created by Blu. It was created by graffiting the walls and sidewalks of urban towns. This piece is based around a creepy looking creature that transforms into many different shapes and objects. The use of stop frame animation has taken graffiti to another level because of the non stop movement of each drawing to create a motion sketch.

The concept of this piece is based around the idea of life and death. He shows this by the ongoing creation of new creatures, as one dies, another one is created from the remainders of the old. This unique concept could also be seen as reincarnation because each character is the evolution of the creature before.

Khoda by Reza Dolatabadi

Khoda by Reza Dolatabadi is an emotional piece where a man is in prison and wants to escape. The concept of this physcologial thriller is revealed at the end where the man is seen in his building, looking depressed. I understand the piece to be based around someones mental state, where they are stuck somewhere they don't want to be. This could also be potrayed as the power of your mind. If you believe it, can it really happen or as the motto says "Even in the mind, is escape ever possible?".

The craft of this piece is extraordinary. Over 6000 individual paintings were created over a two year project to produce a five minute masterpiece. This almost impossible task was awarded the "Best Animation" award at the "Royal Television Awards" 2009.
